Topology Optimization of Lightweight Mechanical Components for Additive Manufacturing
Abstract
A topology optimization approach was applied to reduce the weight of mechanical components intended for additive manufacturing. Structural performance was evaluated through finite element analysis while considering manufacturing constraints. The optimized design achieved a substantial reduction in material consumption without compromising mechanical strength. The findings demonstrate that integrating topology optimization with additive manufacturing techniques can improve production efficiency and structural reliability in modern engineering applications.
